Route 20 km

The grand adventure

Set off on a long canoe descent of the Leyre and enjoy a full day surrounded by nature.

Your experience

A day that is easy to organise.

Wild beaches, a picnic and enough time to truly switch off. Shuttle, canoe or kayak, paddles and buoyancy aids are included. You leave your car at the finish, the shuttle takes you to the start, and you paddle back to your vehicle.

Limited shuttle seats

If the shuttle is full

Minibus seats are limited. When none are left, you choose how to reach the start — either way your car waits for you at Pont de Moustey and the minibus brings drivers back at the end of the trip.

Go straight to the start

Make your own way to Pont de Moustey, where we meet you with the equipment.

In that case, give each participant's buoyancy aid size when booking: we will not be able to fit you at the base.

What to bring

Shoes that stay on your feet and can get wet, sun protection and water. Leave a change of clothes in the car and keep your phone and documents in a dry bag.

How the shuttle works

You meet at the finish point and leave your car there. The shuttle drives you to the launch point, and you paddle back down to your vehicle.

On the river

The Leyre is calm with no technical difficulty, and a briefing is given before launching. Sandbanks invite you to stop : take your litter with you, the river crosses a regional nature park.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions

Where is the meeting point for the 20 km route?

We’ll meet at 9 am at our base in Belin-Béliet, which is the end point of your descent. You’ll leave your car there, and our shuttle will then take you to the starting point in Moustey.

How long should I allow for this great adventure?

It takes a whole day to cover the 20 km between Moustey and Belin-Béliet. This itinerary allows you to stop at the sandbanks for a picnic and paddle at your own pace until late afternoon.

Can children take part in this one-day trip?

Yes, children are welcome provided they can swim. The centre does not impose a minimum age, although this course is recommended for children aged 5 and over.

What equipment is provided for this 20 km route?

We provide the canoe or kayak, paddles, lifejackets and a waterproof container for your belongings. The shuttle service between the start and finish points is also included in the package.
