I. Provision of canoeing and kayaking instruction and supervision
Article 1 — Parties
SAS ALOKANOE provides, on behalf of independent instructors, supervision and/or tuition in outdoor sports: kayaking and canoeing. All activities on offer are supervised and led by guides who hold at least one Professional Qualification Certificate (C.Q.P.) in their respective disciplines and who comply with their legal obligations (U.R.S.S.A.F, R.C.P., D.D.C.S.P.P. registration, and professional licences).
Article 2 — Registration and booking
All our activities are by booking only. There are several ways to book: you can either fill in the online booking form, or contact ALOKANOE directly by email or telephone.
Group outings: registration is confirmed once the participant receives an email or text message confirming their booking for the chosen outing.
Private outings (institutions, companies, organisations): registration is confirmed upon receipt of a deposit equivalent to 30 per cent of the total cost of the service and an email confirming the booking for the chosen outing.
In both cases, the balance will be paid directly to the service provider in their own name at the start of the service.
Article 3 — Price
ALOKANOE’s prices are shown on the website and on site on the day of the trip.
Prices include: organisation, supervision provided by a certified or state-qualified guide, and the hire of the equipment required for the chosen activity (boat, paddle, water bottle).
In any case, please refer to the product data sheet, which is available on our website or on request.
Prices do not include: any hire of additional equipment, transport to the venue (meeting point and activity site) and personal expenses.
For day trips, meals (picnic, water, snacks) are at the customer’s own expense, unless otherwise stated.
For trips lasting several days, additional costs such as accommodation, meals and snacks are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid directly to the accommodation provider or restaurant.
Article 4 — Method of payment
For coaching sessions, payment must be made directly to the coach leading the session on the day of the session, either in their own name or payable to ALOKANOE. This must be specified at the time of booking.
Accepted methods of payment: cheques, holiday vouchers, bank transfer, credit/debit cards (secure online payment) or cash.
Article 5 — Conditions of participation
Our activities are open to everyone; however, depending on the activity and the route, certain conditions must be taken into account (age limit, ability to swim, technical ability, fitness level, etc.).
ALOKANOE is unable to assess its customers’ fitness levels. It is therefore up to each participant to assess their own fitness in relation to the routes they wish to undertake. For details of these requirements, please refer to the route information sheets.
For canoeing and kayaking activities, it is essential to be able to swim 25 metres and submerge oneself. This requirement takes precedence over age: a 5-year-old child who can swim may take part, sitting in the centre of a canoe and under the supervision of an adult.
You must not have any medical contraindications to taking part in the chosen activity.
Important: if you have no medical contraindications but require special medical care or treatment (asthma, diabetes, etc.), or if your state of health requires special attention (fragile joints, back problems, need to wear spectacles, etc.), you must inform the instructor before the activity begins and ensure you have the appropriate emergency medication with you, as advised by your doctor.
Article 6 — Insurance and liability
Every instructor or professional is covered by professional indemnity insurance for their specific activities and for any costs incurred as a result of a potential rescue operation.
We strongly advise all participants to take out third-party liability cover and/or personal accident cover with an insurer of their choice for the practice of white-water sports. We cannot, in fact, assume responsibility in place of each participant’s own personal liability.
SAS ALOKANOE is covered by public liability insurance for all the activities it offers and cannot be held liable for activities booked through other service providers.
In the event of a personal injury, SAS ALOKANOE and the instructor involved shall be released from liability as soon as the victim is taken into the care of the relevant emergency services, and any subsequent hospital treatment shall be covered by the injured person’s personal insurance.
Outdoor activities take place in a specific environment known as a ‘high-risk’ environment. Each participant is aware that, given the specific nature of the activities on offer, they may face certain risks due, in particular, to remoteness, isolation and the specific nature of the environment (river, forest, etc.). They accept these risks in full knowledge of the facts and must observe the rules of caution and follow the advice given by the professionals.
The participant or customer is responsible for the equipment lent to them for the activity. The provider cannot be held liable for any damage that may be caused by the equipment provided.
In the event of theft or damage to the equipment loaned, the participant or customer may be required to pay compensation for wear and tear or to reimburse the full cost of the equipment.
Neither the staff nor SAS ALOKANOE can be held liable for the loss, theft (including from vehicles) or damage to any items that participants may bring with them during the activity.
Article 7 — Cancellation or suspension at the customer’s request
7.1 Cancellation by the customer.
Cancellation of a booking at least 10 days before the day of arrival: full refund of any sums paid. However, a fee of €5 will be deducted if these sums were paid online by credit card and total less than €250, and €10 for any payment exceeding €250 made by credit card online.
Cancellation of a booking between 9 and 2 days before the trip: any sums paid will be retained.
Cancellation of a booking less than 48 hours before departure: the full balance will be charged.
In the event of force majeure and upon presentation of supporting documentation, ALOKANOE may refund the amount paid; however, the customer cannot demand such a refund. In all cases, the customer undertakes to notify ALOKANOE of any changes relating to the booking: programme arrangements, changes to group size, delays or cancellations.
7.2 Interruption during the service. In the event of an interruption during the service, the client or participant shall not be entitled to any refund.
Article 8 — Cancellation or exclusion by ALOKANOE
8.1 Cancellation. ALOKANOE instructors reserve the right to cancel or adjust the outing depending on weather conditions or the participants’ ability level.
The activity may be cancelled for safety reasons (weather conditions, flooding, etc.) or due to any other circumstance beyond our control. In such cases, a replacement activity will be organised where possible, or an alternative date will be offered. If the outing cannot take place, the fee will be refunded in full, and no further compensation will be payable.
In the event that we cancel the event due to an insufficient number of participants (fewer than 4 people) and if no alternative date is suitable, those who have registered will be refunded in full and will not be entitled to any compensation.
8.2 Exclusion. ALOKANOE instructors reserve the right to exclude any participant who is intoxicated or whose behaviour is likely to disrupt the smooth running of the activity or jeopardise the safety of the group. In such cases, the customer or participant shall not be entitled to any refund or compensation.
Article 9 — Appointments
You will always be given the time and meeting point, regardless of the activity. To ensure that activities run smoothly and out of respect for the other participants and your guide, we would ask you to familiarise yourself with the itineraries and other instructions we have sent you in advance.
Please make sure you plan your journey in advance so that you arrive on time. We will accept a delay of up to 15 minutes. After this time, the instructors will set off on their activities and no refund or compensation will be payable.
Article 10 — Supervision of minors
Unaccompanied minors: minors under the age of 14 who are not accompanied by a legal guardian are not permitted to take part in so-called ‘group’ activities.
Unaccompanied minors aged between 14 and 18 may be admitted to so-called ‘group’ activities, subject to parental consent and certain conditions (athletic ability, skill level). In such cases, a parental consent form must be signed by the legal guardian on the day of the activity.
If the activity requires a visit to the site, the minor’s travel must be arranged by their legal representative.
Minors taking part in CVL, CLSH or school programmes: the organisation arranging the trip or outing must be able to provide the instructor and SAS ALOKANOE, for each participant, with a certificate confirming they can swim 25 metres and are able to submerge themselves, as well as each participant’s health form.
Furthermore, ALOKANOE undertakes to provide the certificates and documents required to organise the holiday or outing (DDCSPP authorisation, insurance policies, supervisors’ qualifications, etc.).
Supervision is subject to regulations limiting it to 10 boats. The number of participants per supervisor depends on the participants’ ability, environmental conditions, the nature of the activity and the supervisors’ skills, and must not exceed sixteen in total. Each group of minors must be accompanied by two adults, one of whom must be a centre supervisor and the other the instructor leading the activity.
Article 11 — Gift voucher
The gift voucher becomes valid upon receipt of the full amount for the service.
The order form is issued in your name. However, it may be transferred to a person of your choice, provided you notify us in advance so that we can update the new recipient’s details.
The recipient of the gift voucher must contact us to book the outing.
The activity covered by the gift voucher cannot be exchanged for another, but it is possible to book an activity costing more by paying the difference.
Please note: the gift voucher has an expiry date. Once the validity period (the current year) has passed, the service will be deemed to have been provided and cannot be carried over. The recipient and/or the purchaser will not be entitled to any refund or compensation.
The gift voucher and the personalised document must be presented on the day of the activity to the instructor in charge of the session.
The outing will go ahead provided that the minimum number of participants is reached and the weather conditions are suitable for the activity to take place safely.
Article 12 — Settlement of disputes
The parties shall endeavour to resolve amicably any difficulties that may arise in the performance of the contract. If no amicable agreement can be reached, all disputes relating to the validity, interpretation and performance of this agreement shall be governed exclusively by the laws of France.
Any disputes, of whatever nature, shall fall within the jurisdiction of the French civil and commercial courts, including those ruling on interim relief.
II. Equipment hire
Article 1 — Reservation
All our activities, including equipment hire, are by booking only. There are several ways to book: by completing the online booking form, or by contacting ALOKANOE directly by email or telephone.
The booking is confirmed as soon as the customer receives an email or text message confirming the booking.
Article 2 — Price
Rental rates are displayed on the website and on the booking site.
Prices include the hire of technical equipment: the craft (canoe or kayak), a life jacket, a paddle and a waterproof container.
Prices do not include: any hire of additional equipment, transport to the venue (meeting point and activity site) and personal expenses.
Article 3 — Method of payment
Payment must be made payable to ALOKANOE.
Accepted payment methods: cheques, holiday vouchers, bank transfers, credit/debit cards or cash.
A deposit of €200 is required for each item of equipment hired and will be refunded when the equipment is returned. The balance is to be paid when the equipment is handed over.
Opening hours are stated when the equipment is handed over. In the event of a late return outside opening hours, a surcharge of €20 will be applied and is payable.
Article 4 — Insurance and liability
In the case of a sport practised using equipment, and particularly where sports equipment is hired for activities not supervised by an instructor, the customer acknowledges that they possess sufficient knowledge and technical skills to practise this sport independently. In such cases, the customer undertakes the activity for which the equipment is hired entirely at their own risk and under their own responsibility. SAS ALOKANOE shall not be held liable for any accident that may occur during such unsupervised activity.
As the team and SAS ALOKANOE do not have the means to assess their customers’ sporting ability, it is therefore the responsibility of each participant or customer to assess their own physical fitness, knowledge and skills in light of what they wish to achieve.
Article 5 — Insurance
ALOKANOE SAS is covered by professional indemnity insurance for its own activities and cannot be held liable for any incident or accident that may occur during an unsupervised activity.
Furthermore, we strongly advise all participants to take out third-party liability insurance and/or personal accident insurance with an insurer of their choice.
Outdoor activities take place in a specific environment known as a ‘high-risk’ environment. Each participant is aware that they may face certain risks, arising in particular from remoteness, isolation and the specific nature of the activity and the environment. They accept these risks in full knowledge of the facts and must observe the rules of caution and follow the recommendations of the relevant federations and competent authorities.
The participant or customer is responsible for the equipment allocated to them. ALOKANOE SAS cannot be held liable for any damage that may be caused by this equipment. In the event of theft, loss or damage to the hired equipment, the participant or customer will be required to pay compensation for wear and tear or to reimburse the full cost of the equipment.
SAS ALOKANOE cannot be held liable for the loss, theft (including from vehicles) or breakage of any items that participants may bring with them during the activity.
Article 6 — Cancellation or interruption caused by the customer
6.1 Cancellation by the customer. Should the customer have paid a deposit, the refund terms are as follows.
Cancellation of a booking at least 10 days in advance: full refund of the amounts paid. However, a fee of €5 will be deducted if these amounts were paid online by credit card and are less than €250, and €10 for any payment over €250 made by credit card online.
Cancellation of a booking approximately 5 days in advance: any payments made will be retained.
Cancellation of a booking less than 2 days in advance: the full amount will be charged.
6.2 Cancellation by ALOKANOE. ALOKANOE SAS reserves the right to cancel an activity for safety reasons (weather conditions, maintenance of the route, flooding, etc.) or in any other case of force majeure. In such cases, and where possible, the customer will be offered an alternative date or time slot. If the activity cannot take place, the amount paid will be refunded in full, and the customer shall not be entitled to any further compensation.
6.3 Exclusion or refusal to hire equipment. SAS ALOKANOE reserves the right to refuse to hire equipment to a participant whose skill level does not allow them to practise the activity safely on their own, or whose behaviour is likely to jeopardise their own safety and that of the group accompanying them. In such cases, the customer or participant shall not be entitled to any refund or compensation.
Article 7 — Minors
Unaccompanied minors: minors under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by a legal guardian are not permitted to hire technical equipment.
Article 8 — Meeting point and return
You will always be informed of the time and meeting point, regardless of the service. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the route maps and other instructions we have sent you in advance. Please plan your journey in advance to ensure you arrive on time. We allow for a maximum delay of 15 minutes. Beyond this time limit, drivers will commence their next assignment and no refund or compensation will be payable.
Similarly, the latest time for returning equipment is 6.30 pm. After this time, SAS ALOKANOE may charge a penalty of €5 per boat per half-hour.
Article 9 — Settlement of disputes
The parties shall endeavour to resolve amicably any difficulties that may arise in the performance of the contract. If no amicable agreement can be reached, all disputes relating to the validity, interpretation and performance of this agreement shall be governed exclusively by the laws of France.
Any disputes, of whatever nature, shall fall within the jurisdiction of the French civil and commercial courts, including those ruling on interim relief.
