You don’t need to set aside a whole weekend to get out of the city and into the gallery forest. The best route depends mainly on how much time you want to spend on the water and what time you arrive.
01
Make your choice before setting off
The 6 km route is ideal for a first-time experience lasting around two hours. The 13 km route offers a longer experience, lasting half a day or a full day. The 20 km route is a full day on the river. Check which departures are available before you set off: a price list is no substitute for a confirmed booking.
02
Two events not to be confused with one another
The 6 km route starts at the Pont de Saugnacq. The 13 km and 20 km routes start at the base on 89 Route de Bayonne in Belin-Béliet. Each route description provides links to Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze and OpenStreetMap so that you can open the route in your usual app.
03
Convert the output to a true off state
Please bring suitable clothing for the water, sun protection and any items listed in your confirmation. The Leyre flows to the rhythm of the boat trip: allow plenty of time for the meeting point and do not plan any time-sensitive activities immediately after your return.
Do I need to book in advance if I’m coming from Bordeaux?
Yes. Timetables and capacity depend on which services are actually running. Booking ensures you won’t end up travelling on a service with no seats available.
Which route should you choose for your first time?
The 6 km race is the shortest distance. The final choice also depends on the participants’ age, their fitness levels and the conditions on the day.
