Just 30 minutes from Arcachon, explore the Leyre by canoe on 6 km, 13 km or 20 km routes, from €20 per adult.
01
Choose the river for a change of scenery
The gallery forest forms a natural corridor. Rather than a water-based activity out on the lagoon, the trip takes you through the wooded banks. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a different kind of day out in the countryside whilst staying in Arcachon, Gujan-Mestras, Le Teich or Biganos.
02
A format for every programme
The 6 km route leaves time for another activity during the day. The 13 km afternoon route extends the experience without taking up the whole morning. The day-long routes – 13 or 20 km – are ideal when exploring the Leyre is the main activity.
03
Organise access without winging it
Meeting points vary depending on the route. The 6 km route starts at the Saugnacq Bridge; the other routes start from the Belin-Béliet base. Click on the link for the chosen activity and arrive at the time stated on your booking.
04
When to come from the basin
Mornings are the quietest on the river and the light is at its most beautiful under the trees. In July and August, midday departures book up quickly: please book several days in advance. Outside school holidays, you can sometimes paddle down the Leyre without seeing a soul. A forecast of rain won’t stop you from paddling, but we’ll ring you if the river level means the trip isn’t advisable.
